As already state, this broad range can be as important as safety equipment or as simple as apparel. Let's explore the boating gear ideal for every boat owner.
At the top of the list is your safety equipment. You can find a guideline, in most marinas or sporting goods stores, written by the United States Coast Guard. The list will include: fire extinguishers, life jackets or each person aboard your boat, sound making equipment (such as a bell or horn), and accurate lighting for after dark boating. It is required, by law, each boat be equipped with these boating gear.
Other items would be a stereo for personal pleasure. In case of emergencies, it is a good idea to have either a communications radio, cell phone or two-way radio on board.
For docking you boat at the pier, you'll need docking line. To minimize the risk of damaging your boat when docking, you may want dock bumpers. these are similar to buoys you can hang down the side of your boat. An anchor is an important feature attached to a line for when you wish to stay in one area on the lake.
You know why you invested in this boat, now we will look at equipping your boat for your special activities. If you are going to have it for play; invest in water skies or a waterboard, a strong tow rope. Maybe you might with to use a tube; it could be for one person or big enough for three people. The tube will need its own tow rope and it is a good idea to find a tube with handles.
But maybe you want your boat to be more relaxing and use it for fishing. Your fishing gear will consist of fishing rods, reels, tackle (including raincoats), fishing net and bait. Your boat may be equipped with a live well; if not, you'll want a bucket for your catch.
Some people feel a navigational system is an essential part of boating gear. Which, you can find an inexpensive GPS System that will work very good. If you don't want the GPS system, at least have a good compass as a safe guard to getting lost on the lake.
